Herts has Greenest elections in England

The County Council elections on 4th May 2017 will see more Green party candidates in Hertfordshire than in any other county in England.

Hertfordshire Greens are fielding a record number of 65 candidates in the election, plus five by-election candidates on the same day. In the previous County Council elections four years ago, Greens fielded 48 candidates in Hertfordshire.

Green candidates are pledging that if elected they will use their influence to put power in the hands of local communities and protect local services. The record number of candidates include dedicated local campaigners that are determined to put power in the hands of local people.

St Albans District Councillor Simon Grover said: “The number of candidates reflects our increased membership and the growing support we’re seeing for a party that puts principles and people first. In these turbulent political times, voters want candidates with honesty and integrity, and that’s what you get with the Greens.”
